| Two arrested, explosives recovered | | |
Jammu, Sep 15 Security forces have recovered a huge quantity of explosives and arrested two persons in separate incidents from Poonch and Jammu districts during the last 24 hours, official sources said here today.
A joint team of Army and Special Operation Group (SOG) of police, on specific information, recovered arms and explosives kept in a 50-litre tank from Hurmuthal village in Surankote tehsil of Poonch district last night, they said.
The recoveries from the tank included eight mortar bombs, 15 fuses of mortar bomb, one Claymore mine, one anti-personnel mine, one time device for IED, four detonators and one pistol magazine, they said adding that the militants had dumped these explosives in the tank before fleeing.
In another incident, sleuths of the counter-intelligence unit of the state arrested one Yoga Singh from Simbal camp of Jammu district yesterday, they said and added three hand grenades were seized from his fields near the house.
His son, working in police as a constable and identified as Mohan Singh, was also taken into custody for questioning.
His other son Sukhdev Singh, who was involved in Punjab militancy, is already in Tihar jail, they said.
