| PNB opens 77th branch in J&K | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 8: With its initiative to reach out to the vast section of the people of state of Jammu and Kashmir, India`s leading bank Punjab National Bank opened its 77 branch office in the state at Talab Tillo Chowk. The branch was inaugurated by R C Kaul, Deputy General Manager, Punjab National Bank, J&K Circle. Speaking at the function, Kaul said that the main objective of the bank is to reach out to the door steps of the people and to provide them a hassle free service. He said that it was the demand of the local people to open a branch in Talab Tillo area and through this branch the customers will get all the facilities like INTERNET BANKING, ATM cum DEBIT Card, RTGS facility etc. Punjab National Bank has a network of 77 offices at present spread from Lakhanpur to Leh and of these 49 branches operate in Jammu province, with several operating deep inside the rural areas of Jammu province, he added. The bank with a record of 103 years dedicated service to the people opened the first branch in the state in May 1905 at Lal Chowk, Srinagar, he said. Kaul informed the gathering that the Bank has a wide network of 33 ATMs in the state and with the opening of this Branch the Bank has now 110 outlets in the state. Punjab National Bank has added one more feather to its cap as the Bank is now 100% CBS i.e. all the branches of PNB across India are now with 100% ANYWHERE BANKING facility connected to national network known as Centralized Banking Solutions, he informed. B L Jain, Assistant General Manager, Dr. B M Padha, Chief Manager Circle office Jammu, O P Munshi Manager BO Talab Tillo and renowned persons of the locality were also present at the function. |
