| Niaz campaigns for Azad, seeks votes for development | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Bhalessa, Dec 8: Former Minister and sitting Member Legislative Council Mohammad Sharief Niaz, who is also election incharge of former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, addressed a large gathering at Changa Bhalessa of Bhaderwah constituency in which he lauded the achievements made by the Congress party under the dynamic leadership of Azad and expressed the hope that party will again form the government under his (Azad’s) leadership. He said that it was Azad who with his sincere efforts managed huge flow of central funds for the development of the State and listed the achievements of the government in detail. Niaz said that if the Congress is voted to power it will implement the 6th pay Commission in the State and would enhance the retirement age of the Government employees, besides providing immediate jobs to nearly 80,000 unemployed youth on fast track basis Refuting BJP allegation of appeasing militants, he said that during NDA rule at the centre a hard core terrorist Azhar Masood alog with his other associates were handed over to the hijackers of IA flight at Kendhar, which were escorted by the then Foreign Minister Jaswant Singh, for which BJP is answerable to the countrymen. He said that Masood was a head of such Organization which recruited fifty thousands terrorists in Pakistan and among those some of them are involved in the recent terrorists attack in the Mumbai city. Charging BJP of propagating the communalism for their political gains, he said that no developmental activities, including special package to the state, were given by the BJP when they were in power at the Centre. Bodh Raj Suman, Amin Chand, Pritam Kotwal, Hakim Din, SP Parihar, Ramzan Rather, Mushtaq Ahmed Zargar, Shabir Ahmed, Bodh Raj and Mohammed Abass Rather also addressed the gathering. |
