| Abdullahs greet people on Eid | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 8: Patron National Conference Dr Farooq Abdullah , President Omar Abdullah and General Secretary Sheikh Nazir Ahmed, Advocate have greeted people on the eve of Eid-ul-Azha and called for embracing the spirit of tolerance, charity; solidarity and unity.
In a joint message, issued here today, the trio hoped that the Eid would bring peace and tranquility to the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
Observing that Eid is a time of peace, brotherhood, friendship, tolerance and solidarity, the NC leaders said that these values are the basic teachings of Islam and should be cherished by every person.
"The cardinal principle of sacrifice under the context is the totality of mankind's willingness to give up what is otherwise considered dear and sacrosanct for the sole purpose of attaining the pleasure of Allah", the statement said. |
