7/13/2022 10:54:51 PM

Early Times Report

Jammu, July 13: In the ongoing North Zone Inter Sainik Schools Sports & Cultural Meet 2022 at Sainik School Nagrota, In Football, the hosts won a nail-biting match against Sainik School Kapurthala by 3-0. The match was greeted by a sudden downpour but wet grass and slippery outfield could not dither the spirited players from both the teams and Cadet Jimmy. A Nagrotian drew first blood by scoring a thriller. Much to their woe, Saikapians soon conceded a penalty which was quickly converted by the Nagrotians, and put them in a commanding position well before the halftime.
As rain eased, Saikapians accelerated their attack in the second half and continued to push hard for scoring goals. Thanks to some fantastic saves by the Cadet Arjun, goalkeeper of Sainik School Nagota, the hosts continued to defend themselves even as red card went up twice forcing one player from each side out of the match for a grave foul. Another goal by Sainik School Nagrota sent Saikapians shattered as the match ended with an emphatic win by the hosts. In Volleyball Sainik School Nagrota continued their winning streak by defeating Sainik School Amethi in a one-sided match by 25/12, 25/07. The rain-marred Basketball match between Sainik School Nagrota and Sainik School Ghorakhal resumed after a brief spell as the hosts went on to win by a score of 40/29. Due to unfavourable weather conditions, hockey match of the morning session between Sainik School, Sujanpur Tira and Rewari was rescheduled.
On the literary front, Sainik School Nagrota put up a daunting performance and emerged winners in the North Zone Inter Sainik Schools Quiz Competition 2022 which was organised at the School Auditorium on 13 July 2022. Cadets Akash and Aman of the host school kept their cool despite early setback until taking comfortable lead in the rapid fire round.
Sainik School Amethi, one of the new entrants in this North Zone Competitions won accolades and stood Runners-up. Capt (IN) AK Desai Principal lauded the participants for putting up a tightly contested Quiz Competition. Col VK Sharma (Retd), Principal Shri Ram Universal School, Jamu who was the Chief Guest on this occasion gave away the medals and certificates to the winners and complimented the participants from all eight Sainik Schools. The Quiz Competition was conducted by Quiz Master Mr BBR Chibber TGT (Social Science) of the School and his team.
