7/19/2022 10:19:01 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, July 19: The scheme of fee support to the IGNOU students belonging to SC/ST categories seeking fresh admission and re-registration for subsequent semesters/years has been extended. For fresh admission in July 2022, the benefits of the scheme are extended to fifty five academic programmes. The detailed list of fifty five IGNOU programmes for which fee is exempted to SC/ST applicants can be accessed on IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in under Notification No.46 Dated 15th July, 2022.
Only a registration fee of Rs.300/- will be charged from SC/ST applicants seeking fresh admission. For fresh admission of July 2022, parents'/guardians' income of fresh applicants from all sources should not exceed Rs.2.5 lakhs during the last financial year as per Govt. of India norms. Fresh applicants should submit income certificate issued by the authority as decided by the respective State Government.
Earlier process of re-registration is to be maintained for SC/ST students, who already availed the benefits of the scheme in earlier admission cycles with the conditions laid under Notification No.32 dated 26th June, 2021. The said Notification can also be accessed on the IGNOU website www.ignou.ac.in.
"This is a welcome step for the educational upliftment of downtrodden and weaker segments of the society. This is a golden opportunity for the SC/ST sections and I call upon the parents/guardians to avail the benefit of this scheme and get their wards enrolled for the programmes they wish to peruse", said Dr. Sandeep Gupta, who has recently taken the charge of Regional Centre Jammu as the Regional Director In charge in a press briefing.
"IGNOU has further extended the last date for fresh admission as well as re-registration for subsequent semester/year for the July 2022 session till 31st of July, 2022. The new aspirants and already registered learners, who somehow have missed, must avail the opportunity of the extended dates", said Dr. Sandeep Gupta, Regional Director In charge.
