| DEO Kathua convenes meeting of presiding officers | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
KATHUA, DEC 9: The District Election Officer (DEO), Kathua, Ms. Mandeep Kaur convened a meeting of Presiding Officers here today.
The Election Observer (EO) for Kathua and Hiranagar Assembly constituencies, Mr. Adhar Sinha, EO for Bani Assembly constituency, Mr. Sushant Majumdar and EO for Basohli and Billawar Assembly constituencies, Mr. Mayank Warwade were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, the DEO stressed upon the Presiding Officers to strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Election Commission of India. She apprised them about their duties at the polling stations as well as the preparation of Presiding Officers' diaries and other documents.
She said that additional Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) have been kept ready and in case, any EVM is found out of order, it shall be replaced immediately. Adequate number of master trainers are also being provided to each Returning Officer for the purpose, she added.
The DEO said that 197 Micro Observers have been deployed at various polling stations in the district. They include 33 in Bani Assembly constituency, 34 in Basohli, 51 in Kathua, 34 in Billawar and 45 in Hiranagar Assembly constituency. The transportation plan was also discussed on the occasion. |
