Early Times Report

UDHAMPUR, July 24: The present government has miserably failed to provide basic amenities to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and only National Conference is capable of securing the future of the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory and its people.
This was asserted by Advocate Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President of JKNC Jammu while addressing a one day convention of Jammu and Kashmir National Conference (JKNC) District Udhampur at Jib Thathi.
The convention was held under the chairmanship of District President Sunil Verma in which Rattan Lal Gupta was the chief guest and Pavittar Singh Block President JKNC presented the welcome address.
Addressing the convention, Rattan Lal said that the Government has miserably failed to provide basic amenities to the people of far flung and remote areas. He said farmers are suffering a lot as not a single promise made to them has been fulfilled by the government. He said while the assurance of doubling farmers’ income continues to be a distant dream, instead the Govt has imposed tax on irrigation.
Rattan Lal castigated the Union Government for adopting anti-people policies that have made the life of common man quite miserable. He accused the government of making false claims of providing Govt jobs to 30000 youth in Public Sector enterprises in J&K. He questioned the claims saying that how can public sector establishments provide jobs when these are on the verge of closure due to anti-traders policies of Govt. He said the Govt is befooling the people of J&K by making false claims through media.
The NC leader said the future of youth in J&K continues to be in dark under the BJP regime. He alleged that there is rampant corruption in J&K with Govt cancelling written exams for the posts of Police Sub-Inspector, aspirants of Finance Account Assistant (FAA) are on protest due to reports of scrapping of FAA selection list besides Govt cancelling the recruitment of Border Battalion aspirants of J&K. From this it is quite evident that the Govt is hell bent upon destroying future of the youth in J&K.
Rattan Lal Gupta asserted that only NC can secure the future of the people of J&K especially its youth. He appealed to the people to extend support to NC and strengthen the hands of Dr Farooq Abdullah to guarantee the welfare and prosperity of J&K and its people.
Later, Advocate Harjeet Bhardwaj, Rattna Devi (Ex-Sarpanch from BJP), Shahbaz Chandail, Anjana Devi and Ajay Bhagat along with their supporters joined NC.
Meanwhile National Conference Provincial President, Rattan Lal Gupta also conducted a tour of Zaber Thatri Block of Udhampur district and held a public meeting there. The people of the area apprised the NC leader about the poor condition of roads, health centres, scarcity of water and power supply. He assured to take up their grievances with the concerned authorities and get these addressed. Prominent among others present on the occasion were Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary Jammu , Vijay Lochan P. P SC Cell, Abdul Gani Teli P. P OBC Cell, Pardeep Bali, Akash Verma, Savitri Devi, Anayatullah, Ch Mohd Ghani, Muzamil Teli, Ashok Mehra, Manmohan Verma and Advocate K.D. Sharma.
