| Good governance paying dividends: Chib | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 10:Congratulating AICC President Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh for an impressive victory of the congress party, the former minister and sitting MLC R S Chib attributed this victory for the good governance and people-oriented policies of the party.
Speaking at an election rally at Simbal organized in support of Suman Bhagat party candidate from R S Constituency today, Chib said the people’s vote for the congress was for her commitment of peace, development and prosperity of the country. The government headed by Dr. Manmohan Singh, he said, has taken suitable and concrete measures in order to boost the economy of the country and his pro-people policies have brought this victory for the congress
Referring to Jammu and Kashmir, Chib said that during the just two and half year’s tenure of Azad led congress government, the state witnessed unprecedented development in all sectors which had never been witnessed during the past sixty years. There is no doubt that the congress party would emerge victorious in the state under the leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad and Prof Saif-ud-Din Soz, he asserted.
He said if voted back to power, the Congress would take up more vigorously the long pending demand of the refugees of 1947, 1965 and 1971 adding that it was only the congress which for the first time took their problems at the appropriate level at New Delhi. He appealed the voters of RS Constituency to vote in favour of Congress candidate for ensuing development of the area.
