Forest Deptt conducts series of plantation drives

RAJOURI, July 26: Nowshera Forest Division conducted series of plantation drives under one beat guard one village programme, during the plantation drives each village was distributed 600 plants of different varieties along with 1000 seed balls.
Beat Guard Langer conducted a plantation drive under one beat guard one village programme here at village Patrara in which Sarpanch Panchyat Patrara Yash Paul Shrama , Panches, locals of the village along with school children participated. The participants were distributed fruit, fodder and shade bearing plants besides seed balls of grass species, bamboo and fodder plants. The programme was organized by Pawan Kumar Beat Guard Langer which was assisted by Rangeel Singh Block Officer Sunderbani and other staff members. While speaking Neelima Shah(IFS) Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera said that the aim of one beat guard one village programme is to reach all the Panchayats and provide them fodder, fruit and other plants for making the Panchayat clean and green . She also said that seed balls of grass and other fodder species also being distributed among the participants, seed ball is a low cost greening initiative of forest department. Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunderbani highlighted the importance of green drives , he also urged the participants to come forward to join hands with forest department so that more and more plantation could be done.
A similar plantation drive was organized here at village Powal which was organized by Tara Chand Beat Guard Dhok Banyard. The drive was attended by members of Panchayat Raj institution , large number of women from the village. They were distributed fruit and fodder plants alongwith seed balls of different species.
