BLSKS presents Nasha Mukt awareness program at GGMS Paloura

JAMMU, July 26: In continuation to the Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan & to promote duggar culture, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan, Ministry of Social Justice and empowerment, Government of India, Social Welfare Deptt, J&K Govt. and Sangam Tru Art Production presented mega cultural program on "Nasha Mukat Bharat Abhiyan & Swachh Bharat", at Govt. Girls Middle School, Upper Paloura Jammu in its 335th Tuesday Series Dogri Musical Play "Ase Nasha Nai Karna". A pledge was administered to more than 100 students and teachers by M.C. Kotwal, Secretary of BLSKS. A Certificate of honor by the Ministry of Social Justice was gives to the Headmaster of the Host School. The programe was inaugurated by the Chief Guest Neelam Manhas, Headmaster, Govt. Girls Middle School, Paloura Jammu. Among the Guest of Honors present were Mukla Bajaj & Priyanka Sharma, Senior teacher of the host school. The day commemorated with sole aim of rejuvenating the traditional, Primitive Folk, Art, Culture of J&K Region in particular and Indian special item prepared, "Nasha Nai Kario Munde Kureio", " Bacho Bacho Tobacoo Kola Bacho", "Nai Pee Shraban", "Bari Kharab Chutki", "Nahin Piya Tobacco Balma", Nukkad, Skits, Songs and Dances were nation in general awareness items were presented. The Chief Guest, said Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan intends to reach out to the masses and spread awareness about substance abuse through various activities like: Awareness generation programmes, Focus on higher educational Institutions, university campuses and schools, Reaching out to the Community and identifying dependent population, Focus on counseling and treatment facilities in hospitals and rehabilitation centres that have been geo-tagged, Capacity building programmes for service providers. The efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective was lauded. The artists of BLSKS presented theme based songs which were written by Dr. M.L. Dogra & the music was the assisted by Raju Bajgal, Music Instructor, BLSKS. The program was also recorded & uploaded online on Social Media for benefit of the peoples.
Welcome speech was given by Dr. M.L. Dogra, Chairman, Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan said he battle continues even after we quit drugs. We need to have strong willpower and control over our impulses and drug cravings. With NMBA, we may rise towards the path of drug de addiction the current statistics on the rise in suicides and mental health issues has led the Government to take the much required action for drug demand reduction. Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, the flagship campaign of the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment is an initiative in this stride. The Abhiyaan has been valiantly fighting against the baleful repercussions of substance abuse at the ground level with the support of local administration, master volunteers, online competitions and several events. It has been evident that mental health disorders need to be addressed to build a healthy society that contributes to the national growth and development. Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan is an efficacious attempt to fight against substance abuse and raise awareness for healthy lifestyles. BLSKS always try to come up with relatable content on the harmful impact of drugs on society.
K.K. Joshi, Vice chairman, BLSKS said our volunteers and outreach workers of these organizations have gone from door to door, and nearby localities of Jammu city to educate the people about the ill effects of drug abuse and have assisted the rehabilitation of victims of substance abuse. NMBA is here to provide a humble reminder that consumption of drugs doesn't make them look cool, it's harmful for health and well-being of any person involved. We live in a world where the drug trade is taking a dangerous turn. Drugs not only ruin the life of the individual but are damaging for the family and society. Drug addiction has become a cause of concern for society and the country as well. The objective of the schemes made by the Ministry is to bring down the consumption of drugs and rehabilitate the addicts and we are going ahead with it with full determination, The singers, musician and actors who performed were Usha Raina, Zulekha farid, Afroz Aalam, Sunil Kumar Dalotra, Sanjeev Kumar, Rahul Kumar. M.C. Kotwal, Programe Incharge, presented vote of thanks for successful conduction of the program.
