| Self-rule with regional federalism may lead to resolution of Kashmir issue :Mufti | | | Jammu,September 16: Former Chief Minister and PDP Patron Mufti Mohd Sayeed on Saturday said that self-rule enshrined with spirit of regional federalism may lead to ultimate resolution of the Kashmir problem. Addressing a largely attended public rally in the premises of the Government Higher Secondary school Sai in RS Pura, Mufti Mohd Sayeed also ridiculed slogan of Autonomy being raised by his political adversaries National Conference. He said, Autonomy alone can not provide permanent solution but our slogan of Self-rule with regional federalism may ultimately lead to the resolution of Kashmir. He asserted, that the ongoing dialogue process is irreversible. Mufti sounded passionate when he bared his heart and said I have only wish, peaceful resolution of the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. The only way forward is to make physical borders irrelevant,he added. Explaining in detail the difference between Autonomy and self-rule,Mufti said PDP had coined slogan of self-rule to address issue of regional aspirations. He said in the present circumstances when people are debating various proposals it becomes imperative for us to also explain our stand on Self rule.He said people are asking us What do we mean by self rule. What is the difference between Autonomy and Self Rule? He said he has already presented the proposal during round table conference chaired by Prime Minister Man Mohan Singh.He said during the meet Prime Minister gave assurance that he will consider both the proposals of Autonomy and Self rule and discuss the same. During his 25 minute speech Mufti Sayeed spoke at lenght about the slogan of Autonomy and raised many questions targeting National Conference.He said, i want to ask National conference, Autonomy ka kya hua, Hamari toh special position thi. In contrast, he said Hamara Self-rule aisa nahin humney Regional federalism ki baat kahi hai. He said those who raise the bogey of trifurcation are also wrong .He said there is need to evolve a mechanism within the Indian constitution with out compromising integrity of the country.He said we believe in unity in diversity and feel all three regions of Jammu,Kashmir and Ladkah should become equitable partners in the development of the state of Jammu and Kashmir. He said, If we have to address contradictions with in the state you have to rely on unity in diversity. He warned people of Jammu and Kashmir no to fall prey to hate campaign against the Cong –PDP alliance and hoped that the alliance which is based on common minimum programme would prosper at National level too.The rally was addressed by senior PDP minister Dilawar Mir,Manjeet Singh,RajyaSabha MP TS Bajwa, and others.
