Jktjac holds meeting and press conference, resents harassing order of repatriation of Rets
8/7/2022 11:02:21 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 7: An emergency meeting of executive members of Jammu Kashmir Teachers'Joint Action Committee (JKTJAC) held at Jammu under the chairmanship of UT President Vinod Sharma and threadbare discussion held regarding the recent harassing order of repatriation of ReTs who have been transferred vide different Government Orders . Later a Press Conference was held here regarding this sensitive issue.
While speaking in the press conference Mr Vinod Sharma said that teachers appointed under ReT scheme under different names have been working in the same schools for last 22 years and are denied transfer on the ground that they are School specific teachers, whereas the fact is that there isn't mention of term 'school specific' in any of the documents of ReT policy and this shows nothing but the harassing attitude of the department towards thousands of ReT teachers.
"Transfer was given by the Government vide Govt order No. 469 Dated 26-06-2014 and was uphold by the order of honourable division bench of the high court and even the bench of CAT has also supported the transfer policy for these teachers by saying that stagnation decreases the teaching potential of the teachers" , he said adding that when department feels the need of these ReT teachers they are deputed to any school having distance 0-100 kilometres but when these needy teachers approach the department for transfer or deployment the department denies the same on various illogical grounds which is totally unjustified.
He further said that these teachers are deployed on various extra non-teaching assignments such as :all sorts of surveys ,election duty, census duty , COVID duty etc.
Pertinent to mention here that the teachers from Akhnoor were deployed at Lakhanpur for COVID duty but are denied transfer.
He also said that the order of repatriation has been implemented in Jammu Province only whereas in Kashmir division same has not been implemented on the direction of Principal Secretary thereby creating another division regionally among teachers and urged him ( Principal Secretary School Education ) to revoke it completely for the welfare of thousands of teachers of Jammu Province.
"Instead of appreciating the efforts of these ReT teachers who have been working with dedication in rural areas in staff deficient schools, the department often harrasses and humiliates them by issuing illogical and irrelevant orders which directly effect the studies of the students." , he said.
He also raised other issues of the cadre including: inclusion of 5 years ReT period for seniority benefits, regularisation of left out ReTs, conversion of regularised RRETs to teachers Grade II/ III , old pension scheme for the employees appointed after 01.01.2010, Provision of mutual transfers of 3rd teachers with teachers Grade II, release of MDM dues , conversion of head teachers posts into posts of non plan masters, DPC of teachers as same is pending since 2014 etc.
On the occasion Executive members unanimously decided to give a week's time to the department to revoke the order and incase same is not revoked by 7th August JKTJAC will hold protest demonstration against the harassment and for this the concerned authorities will be personally responsible.
