| Azad sabotaging future of Congress: Bhasin | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec 11: Lambasting former Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad for his failure to pursue the pro-people agenda of his predecessor, general secretary of the PDP Daman Bhasin today regretted that instead of implementing visionary policies of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Ghulam Nabi Azad imposed his personal agenda and spoiled the peaceful atmosphere in Jammu and Kashmir. Addressing series of public meetings in different areas of Jammu district in support of PDP candidates, Bhasin said that Ghulam Nabi Azad has not only betrayed people of Jammu and Kashmir but he also deceived his own party. "Ghulam Nabi Azad is intentionally sabotaging the prospect of Congress in Jammu and Kashmir", PDP general secretary said while pointing towards fielding of weak candidates on some seats by Ghulam Nabi Azad to ensure defeat of Congress Party. He further said that instead of implementing the policies of Congress party, Ghulam Nabi Azad is more concerned about implementing his personal agenda. "I fail to understand why Ghulam Nabi Azad is himself sabotaging Congress Party in this region", Bhasin said and recalled that when Azad became Chief Minister of the State Congress high command had advised him to pursue policies of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed but did not follow directions of his own party leadership. "Instead of implementing the pro-people policies, incorporated in the Common Minimum Programme (CMP) of the PDP-Congress coalition, Ghulam Nabi Azad was more particular about imposing his personal hidden agenda", he said and shifted all blames on Azad for turmoil in the State during the month of July and August on Amarnath land row. PDP leader exhorted the people to support candidates of their party in the election to establish lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir. He further said that during his tenure as Chief Minister, Mufti Mohammad Sayeed has set an example of good governance. |
