JU organises Tiranga Yatra to spread Message of Unity in Diversity

JAMMU, Aug 10: Irrespective of caste, creed, colour or region, we are one people, one nation from Kashmir to Kanyakumari and thereby implying that Unity in diversity is the message that Prime Minister, Narendra Modi wants to convey through historic Tiranga Yatra, said Prof Umesh Rai, Vice-Chancellor, University of Jammu.
The Tiranga Yatra was led by Vice-Chancellor. "Har Ghar Tiranga' is a campaign to mark the 75th year of India's independence," said Prof Rai and further requested everyone to turn the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign into a mass movement by hoisting the national flag at their homes. It is pertinent to mention here the Tiranga rally was organized by Jammu University Non-Teaching Employees Union under the aegis of 'Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav' to amplify the awareness of 'Har Ghar Tiranga', the government of India's initiative to inculcate a personal connect between the citizens of India and the National Flag.
Thereafter a cultural programme was also organized in Rajinder Singh Auditorium with fanfare and on the occasion University employees also sang patriotic songs. Among others Registrar, Prof. Arvind Jasrotia, Dean Students Welfare, Prof. Parkash Antahal, Dean, Placement, Prof. Vinay Chauhan, Director, Physical Education, Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Prof. Pankaj Srivastava, President JUTA and his team, Dr. Neeraj Sharma, Special Secretary to Vice-Chancellor, Dr. Rashid Manhas, Dr. Shallu Sharma, Dr. Raj Kumar, Dr. Ginny Dogra, Dr. Imran Farooq, Sh. Ashwani Kumar, President Officers Forum and his team, Dr. Rakesh Chib, President JUNTEU and his team, Mr. Vijay Kumar, President JUNGEU and his team, faculty members, Officers, University employees, Scholars and students participated in the event.
