Food Safety Department Jammu conduct drive to ensure safety

Jammu, Aug 11: Food Safety Deptt Division Jammu has jeopardized for Surveillance of testings more samples of Cearales, Sweets ,milk and milk products to ensure availability of Safe food to the people on the Eve of Forthcoming festival-Raksha Bandan .keeping in view the significance of the Festival & consumers Safety the importance of this drive ,
Shakeel-ul-Rehman Commissioner FDA j&k did issue directions carry special drive to put up Food Testing System for developing a robust Food Safety ecosystem.
Sh .Madan Magotra, Dy.commissioner safety Jammu stated that these drives will strengthen foundation for well functioning credible Food Safety. The teams of Food Safety Officers across the division did conduct the inspections of different business outlets & the drives have given a thrust to improve the quality of Food, he said a lot more is to be earmarked in the area of Capacity Building of Enforcement.
He also emphasized on the need to expand Surveillance activities & affirmed that we are increasing headcounts to make sure that the MFTV/ magic Box is utilized in a proper manner, he also said "we are monitoring to ensure that Enforcement activities.
Today the team comprising of Assistant Commissioner Food Safety District Jammu, Food Safety Officers of District Jammu headed by Dy.commissioner Food Safety Jammu Division DFCO Jammu conduct an extensive drive at Satwari Chowk jammu along with 02 MFTVs by early morning at 7AM. During this vigorous campaign 36 surveillance Samples Tested on the spot out of which 10 samples found unsatisfactory the same lifted as legal samples moreover the 34 legal samples of the categories of milk ,milk products & sweets lifted as legal from District Jammu, Samba, kathua, Udhampur, Ramban Doda, Kishtwar under FSSA lifted by the Enforcement Officers for analysis for further investigation, during this drive all the vendors were imparted with the directions to maintain Hygienic practices of personal & Utensils & tools thereto.
He narrated that the drive is going to contribute for the Socioeconomics growth in the State and provide safe Food for better environment. He said that our vision is to ,quell the adulteration of food & water. The drive was run by the Enforcement Officers including Food Safety Officers Jammu & other Districts. The tag line of the drive is to focus on lifting of cearles ,milk & milk products, sweets & confectionary. This drive is emerging as the implemention of Food Safety.
He ensured that the Deptt.is determined to strive to the max extent And at the same under Eat Right Challenge 2 from District Samba 04 Surveillance samples have been lifeted to achieve the target value. he enclaimed to recognize the mission with progress & vibrancy. He also expressed that to widen the compaign today in District Samba. He procalaimed that this drive shall be in continuation till further directions from Commissioner, FDA j&k.
