| Dogri lovers celebrate honours to language | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT Jammu, Dec11: Dogri Sanstha, Jammu organized a musical programme in Abhinav Theatre to celebrate Dogri Manta-Din to commemorate the inclusion of Dogri in 8th schedule o Indian constitution five years back Pramod Jain, Director General, IMPA, J&K was the chief guest in the programme which included presentation of musical rendition of Dogri Poetry of the poets belonging to places other than Jammu city. The poets Prakash Premi, Tara Nath, Joginder Kumar, Sita Ram Sapolia, Viyaya Thakur, Pawan Dev Blowira, Rattan Lal Bhardwaj, Gopal Krishan ‘Komal’, Bishan Singh ‘Dardi’ and Khajur Singh were also felicitated in the programme for their contribution of Dogri language and literature by presentation of mementos. The programme incorporating this unique and noble concept was a great success as the singers who lend their voice to the poetry brought nuances of the poetic beauty by their soulful singing. The singers included Rita Khadyal, Naina Sapru, Shruti Kapur, Satvir Kour, Neetu Atar, Astha Raina, Naveen Sharma, Maninder Sharma and Vivek Mohan were presented mementos by the chief guest. The music was composed by Brij Mohan. Pramod Jina while addressing the audience complimented the and congratulated Dogri Sanstha for having come up with such a beautiful programme which was not only entertaining but highly educative and a step towards the promotion of Dogri language and literature. He said that Dogri Sanstha is the premiere organization and the torch bearer to the movement for creation and promotion of Dogri literature. Earlier Prof. Lalit Magotra, President, Dogri Sanstha while welcoming the audience highlighted the importance of this day and expressed that inclusion of dogri in 8th schedule should not be taken as the end of the road but should be considered as an incentive for launching of a new movement for promotion and development of dogri with increased vigour and dedication. He said that inclusion of dogri in 8th schedule, thought a long awaited objective and should be a matter of satisfaction for dogras but I has increased the responsibilities in dogri writers and dogri speaking public towards their language and literature. |
