Early Times Report
JAMMU, Aug 11: Welfare Society Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu expressed its grave concern over the repeated flooding of areas of Guru Nanak Nagar Jammu at sector no 1,8,11,12,13&14 caused on account of overflowing of naullas. Balwinder Singh Rinku President said that this matter has been brought to the notice of conserned authorities including JMC but inspite of doing anything to anheale the sufferings of the people the corporation has failed to even carryon the regular desilting of the big naullas which has increased the magnitude of the floods. It is further pointed out that the concerned authorities have not only failed to remove the illegal encroachment on the banks of the big naullas but has kept a blind eye to further such encroachments and illegal constructions like ramps which are hampering the flow of water in these naullas. The society also pointed out towards the faulty and weak fresh electric wiring in the streets which is causing frequent power disruption and burden to maintain ance staff besides ugly net of wires on poles, the big mounds of garbage on the main roads and streets speaks in themself of the failure in part of municipal authorities to collect garbage from every home but their vehicles are always busy creating noise polution enchanting cleanliness songs and all of which is making out city ugly and sluggish instead of making it a smart one. The city of temples is getting converted into a smart city of mismanagement simply wasting funds by their improper utilisation ignoring the solution of real problems faced by the residents of city.
