| Congress says confident of majority in Jammu | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 11: The District Congress Committee (Urban) in a meeting held under the chairmanship of former MLA and senior congress leader Om Chopra today decided to intensify its campaign for the party’s nominees seeking election from Jammu city. While expressing satisfaction over the poll campaigning the meeting decided to launch door-to-door campaign to muster larger support of the electorate for the party candidates. The meeting was of the opinion that the programs and policies as also the achievements of the congress led government under the dynamic leadership of Ghulam Nabi Azad have gone well with the people who pledged to support the congress nominees and defeating those working for disintegration of the state. The members at the meeting felt the need to reach out more and more voters explaining the achievements and also the future agenda of the congress party envisages bringing peace, prosperity in the state and above all giving transparent, corruption free and result oriented dispensatioin to the people. the members called upon the electorate to en-mass vote for the congress candidates and ensure the congress party forms the government on its own which would be in their interest as also in the interest of the state and the country. The meeting among others was attended by Kirtan Singh, V K Sethi, Mian Nazir, Inder Sehgal, Madan Lal, Ram Malhotra, Hussain Bakshi, M M Handa, Harjeet Singh and Mansa Ram. |
