Nowshera Forest Division celebrates Raksha Bandan by tying Rakhi to plants

NOWSHERA, Aug 11: On the eve of Raksha Bandan Sunder bani Range of Nowshera Forest Division conducted special plantation drive at Thanda Pani. During the plantation drive girls of Panchyat Thanda pani tied Rakhi to the plant they have planted. They said that they will protect the plant as they are being protected by their brothers. The girl child were also distributed certificate under the theme "One plant each for girl child". The members of PRI appreciated the unique initiative of Forest Department particularly Vivek Verma Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri, Neelima Shah Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera and Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunder bani. The members of PRI urged Forest Department to conduct such drives on all the historical events, festivals etc so that mote and more people could pledge to protect the green gold. While speaking Neelima Shah Divisional Forest Officer Nowshera said that Now shera Forest Division is committed to conduct such special drives for the mass awareness creation and participatory management of forests. The drive was jointly conducted by Rangeel Singh and Ved Parkash Block Officers of Sunder bani Forest Range. The whole event was conducted under the direct supervision of Vivek Verma Conservator of Forests West Circle Rajouri Neelima Shah Divisional Forest Officer Now shera and Rakesh Verma Range Officer Sunder bani.
