Feel proud, unfurl Tricolour in every home: Raman Suri
“Tiranga Distributed”

Early Times Report

JAMMU, Aug 14: Urging everyone in Jammu and Kashmir to celebrate the spirit of “Har Ghar Tiranga” - a campaign under the aegis of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, to hoist tricolour in every home and mark the 75th year of India’s independence, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) J&K Executive Member Raman Suri today said that one must feel proud of being an Indian, remember all those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom and appreciate those defending our borders, so that we can progress by leaps and bounds and live peacefully.
Raman Suri, while distributing Tricolour amongst the residents of Jammu East and unfurling the same on rooftops of homes said, this is a privilege and also a matter of duty to unfurl the Tricolour at our homes as the Union Government has amended the laws to facilitate every individual or organisation besides government functionaries and departments to hoist Tricolour with pride. The move is also aimed at making Indians aware of their National Flag and all laws associated with it. There can’t be any better way of participating in the 75th Independence Day celebrations than hoisting the National Flag at our homes, offices, establishments or even in localities.
The BJP leader said, India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi is getting transformed to become a world power. The kind of development that we are witnessing, the redundant laws that are being done away with, the kind of investment that is pouring in and the kind of people’s involvement in making a strong nation, all are bringing people close together, work in unison and build a strong nation. To celebrate this spirit, we must bring home the TIRANGA and reflect our commitment and integrity towards our nation.
Raman Suri said, many anti-social elements are finding flaws in every move of the Union Government but undeterred from such misleading campaigns, we must show our respect towards the Indian flag and hoist it with pride and happiness. This, he said, will send a signal to our younger generation, who are going to take over the reins of the country in future. They must know how a strong nation is built and how its national flag brings in a joy of freedom and patriotism in the hearts and souls of people.
He added that as per the National Honour Act 1971 and the Flag Code of India 2002, we can now hoist the hand-spun, hand-woven or machine-made National Flag of cotton/ polyester/ wool/ silk/ khadi/ bunting.
Also, we can hoist the National Flag in our homes on all days and occasions, ceremonial or otherwise, consistent with the dignity and honour of the National Flag and round the clock. Suri urged fellow citizens to hoist the National flag with dignity and make the world know what this Tricolour means to us and how we have earned it.
