12/11/2008 11:48:19 PM
EARLY TIMES REPORT
Sonepat, Dec 11: In response to a call by All India Dak Karamchari Sangh, the postal employees across the country will go on an indefinite strike from December 17 in protest against non-acceptance of their "just and legitimate" demands by the Central government.
National General Secretary of the Sangh S S Mahadevarya, told media persons that the employees would take out torch-light processions on the evening of December 16 to press for their demands and reiterate solidarity and unity of the organisation.
The main demands, among other things, include regularisation of services of all the ad hoc employees and implementation of the new pension scheme.
Mahadevarya also said that the employees would also hold rallies and demonstrations in front of their respective post offices every day.
He also declared that the agitation of the employees would continue until all the demands of the Sangh were accepted by the government.
