| PDP demands judicial probe in Chittisingpora massacre | | | EarlyTimes Report Jammu, Dec12- A day after NC patron and former Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah alleged that militants set free by Mufti Mohamed Sayeed during his term as chief minister have become a headache for the entire nation, a senior PDP leader and close aide of Mufti Mohammed Sayeed today demanded a thorough judicial probe behind massacre of Sikhs in Chittisinghpora and Mehjoor Nagar. More than three dozen Sikhs were massacred by unidentified gun men on the eve of US president Bill Clintons visit to India. Addressing press conference here today, PDP vice president Rangeel Singh said the National Conference is projecting itself as saviour of the Sikh community and promising moon to Sikhs but when they were in government, Sikhs were selectively targeted and killed in large numbers. He said Chittisingpora massacre took place when NC government was in office but after the passage of so many years, Sikhs do not know who was responsible for the gruesome massacre of members of the minority community in Kashmir. Singh said during National conference rule in the state no inquiry report was made public by the state government. Raising question marks over the intention of the state government headed by National Conference, PDP leader said that the Ansari Commission was set up but the report prepared was dumped without making it public. He said the Sikh community is aghast and want a fresh judicial probe to nail the culprits.
