Dogri Sanstha releases Jagdeep Dubey's Vikran

JAMMU, Aug 22: Dogri Sanstha Jammu, a pioneer literary organization working for mother tongue Dogri and Duggar cultural traditions since 1944 released eminent Dogri writer Jagdeep Dubey's collection of three theatre plays entitled 'Vikran' in a simple but an impressive function at Govt. Women College parade Jammu.
The book contains three plays namely Suttar, Ladai Kadun Mukkag & Vikran revolving around different themes. This is his 3rd collection of plays after Galoor and Dangar.
Padamshri Jitender Udhampuri was chief guest on the occasion, Prof. Lalit Magotra President Dogri Sanstha presided over the function whereas Rajeshwar Singh 'Raju' an eminent English, Hindi and Dogri writer was Guest of Honour.
In his address Jaitender Udhampuri recalled the contributions of litterateurs hailing from Ramnagar from where Jagdeep also belongs. He said that Jagdeep Dubey has proved his worth as a short story writer and playwright for Akashwani and Doordarshan. He welcomed his new book that will help theatre activists to stage new plays.
Prof. Lalit Magotra while complementing Dubey for the book said that Dogri plays ware much wanted and this book has surely enriched that part of Dogri literature. He hoped that now the theatre directors will get more plays to exhibit their creative inputs by staging these plays which are appreciable for their contents and plots.
As guest of honour, Rajeshwar Singh 'Raju' said that Dubey has been a well known name in literary circles both as a playwright and short story writer. With every addition to his kitty he has been enriching treasure of Dogri literature also. He complemented him for his continuous contributions that inspire others also to follow his footsteps.
On this occasion eminent theatre activist Raj Kumar Bahurupia presented a detailed paper on the book that was appreciated for its literary and critical aspects by galaxy of persons from literature, theatre and other walks of life who graced the occasion with their auspicious presence. The program was conducted by eminent poetess and broadcaster Promila Manhas who present vote of thanks as well.
