Jammu gets ready for 'Integrated Command and Control Centre'

JAMMU, Aug 23: The Jammu Smart City Limited (JSCL) is all set to establish an Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) to bring all the different government services of several departments to a single platform as well as to handle all civic issues.
The single platform aimed at monitoring and addressing public issues on a real-time basis is being established under the Smart City Mission of Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoUHA).
The ICCC will help in fine-tuning vehicular traffic regulation as well as improvising the municipal services including waste management, sewerage issues and many more.
The project will also offer smart governance solutions and a quick public grievance redressal system.
In this connection, the JSCL held discussion with the stakeholders' comprising students, prominent citizens, Senior Govt. Officials and others.
To sensitise stakeholders about the project, Sh. J.P. Singh JKAS, explained about the facilities available in the Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) and its advantages through power-point presentation.
He further informed that the project also includes an Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS).
"The ITMS will enable 24×7 and real-time detection of traffic violations in the city. It will include the red-light violation detection system, No-Seat-Belt Detection, No-Helmet Detection, Wrong Lane Driving etc." he said.
He added that the VMDs have been installed across the city and which will be integrated and managed through ICCC for effective public communication on various aspects including traffic, environment etc.
He further informed that the concerned departments are being taken on board for the effective and coordinated implementation of the project and ICCC will enable concerned authorities to address public problems within the next few minutes to ensure normalcy at the earliest.
After clarifying the doubts of the participants, the officials also recorded the suggestions given by them to make the system more effective.
