SPIC MACAY founder visits Jodhamal

JAMMU, Aug 23: Dr. Kiran Seth (Padma Shri), the legendary founder of the world famous SPIC MACAY (The Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music And Culture Amongst Youth) at age of 73 years is on a 145 days mission of cycling from Kashmir to Kanyakumari. His journey began on 15th August from Srinagar and will culminate on 31st December at Kanyakumari.
The motive of his cycling odyssey is to celebrate India's composite heritage and to spread Mahatma Gandhiji's message of simple living and high thinking. Dr. Seth had visited Public school today as a part of his cycling odyssey. At Jodhamal School his interaction with the student was very thought provoking and profound. The students were made aware of the 5 decades of yeoman service. Dr. Seth and SPIC MACAY have done for Hindustani & Classical Dance and Music. Nandan Kuthiala, Trustee and Dr. Deep Khare, Principal thanked Team SPIC MACAY and Dr. Seth for visiting Jodhamal Public School as a part of his epic journey. The students were thoroughly impressed and motivated by Dr. Seth's talk and never say no spirit.
Dr. Seth accompanied with Sapna Sangra (J&K Head, SPIC MACAY) Neetu Johri was the teacher Incharge on the behalf of the school.
At present SPIC MACAY is organizing around 500 programmes in more than 1500 institutions every year. It is estimated that Pan India SPIC MACAY connects with nearly 30 Lakh students every year.
