JAMMU, Aug 25: Commemorating Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav India @75 NSS GGM Science College under the patronage of worthy Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo and guidance of NSS PO Dr. Deepali Mahajan organized an awareness program SVEEP as per the instructions of Chief Electoral Officer, Jammu and Kashmir through District Election Officer (Deputy Commissioner) Jammu. The SVEEP team headed by District Education Planning Officer, Devinder Singh Manhas (Nodal Officer), Manmeet Bali, Principal GHSS R.S Pura, Dr. Ajay Singh Manhas, Dr. Paramjeet Kour, Sushil Hitaishi, Poonam Gandotra, Sugandh (Sr. Lecturers) and Darshan Sharma Teacher. NSS volunteers Pulkit, Himanshu, Sanchit, Rimjhim, Aaghav, Parveen presented their views beautifully. Systematic Voters' Education and Electoral Participation program, better known as SVEEP, is the flagship program of the Election Commission of India for voter education, spreading voter awareness and promoting voter literacy in India. Election commission of India offers online voter registration for Indian citizens who have attained the age of 18 on the qualifying date (1st of January of the year of revision of electoral roll). Citizen, can enroll himself/herself as General Voter and fill Form 6 online at National Voters' Service Portal. Registered voters can also check their enrollment status. https://electoralsearch.in/ the available site. One can use Voter Helpline App to verify your name in Electoral Roll or register online. They elaborated the different forms Form 6, 7 and 8 to be filled and linking of voters card with adhar card. The Introduction to SVEEP, awareness about voting, importance of elections, sensitizing the new voters regarding various forms related to addition, correction, deletion, etc., information and technical aspects of EVM and VVPAT, Pledge were the main highlights of the program. The program ended with vote of thanks by NSS Program Officer Dr. Deepali Mahajan.
