| People have rejected political non-entities: Mehbooba | | | earlY Times Report
Kulgam, Dec12- Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) President Mehbooba Mufti has said some self-appointed mainstream politicians, who had accidentally emerged on the State's political scene, are unnerved by the poll trends as they see their fate being sealed by the people for ever.
Addressing a series of election rallies in Kulgam constituency today, Mehbooba said the people have now clearly seen through the façade behind which these self-styled politicians were playing their dubious manipulative political games. "Such dirty tactics is always short-lived and does not endure the public scrutiny for long," she said and added that Kulgam constituency has also been a victim of similar awful situation for the past 12 years and now the people of this constituency have realized how they were being taken for a ride by a political non-entity.
Mehbooba said the transgressions committed by this self-styled politician on the inhabitants of Kulgam constituency have now become fully public and the people of the area have decided to get rid of his political maneuvering. "And the writing on the wall is clear in Kulgam constituency today that the people here want a representative who will do justice with their mandate and not exploit their innocence for his own political survival," she said and added that such political non-entities have already been rejected by the people in other constituencies that went to polls and they will do the same in Kulgam now.
Mehbooba said a section of the State's politicians including the National Conference leaders want the uncertainty and stalemate to continue in the State and the region as their political survival is guaranteed only under uncertain conditions. "As the trauma of turmoil has not touched the skin of such power-hungry politicians, they enjoy the pain of others," she said and added that if, God forbid, something untoward happens in the region, it would be the common people of the State who would have to face its brunt.
