Fit India Foundation Day celebrated in Government Schools of Jammu Division

Jammu, Aug 29: Fit India Foundation Day-2022 was celebrated on 29th August, 2022 on the eve of National Sports Day in Jammu Division at School, Zone and District levels by holding various fitness activities including indigenous games and sports along with yoga sessions.
Director School Education Jammu, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, in the assessment meeting held today, divulged that lakhs of students and teachers participated in the various fitness and sporting activities covering thousands of Schools. In his congratulatory message to the students, teachers and staff members, Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, recognising the efforts put in, thanked every one for the overwhelming response and asked them to continue working diligently so as to achieve the motto of PM’s scheme of Mission Fit India in letter and spirit.
At Divisional level, the Directorate of School Education Jammu organised a grand felicitation ceremony for the students who participated in 7th National Yoga Olympiad 2022 held at NCERT New Delhi w.e.f. 18th-20th, June 2022 and National Fit India Quiz held at Mumbai on July 23, 2022. Dr. Ravi Shankar Sharma, Director School Education Jammu was the chief guest in this felicitation programme. On this occasion of the National Sports Day, the Directorate of School Education Jammu has now expanded the initiatives of Fitness and Sports in all the Government Schools.
He congratulated and appreciated the efforts of the participants of Yoga Olympiad and Fit India National Quiz. He further lauded the efforts of Govind Sharma, Nodal Officer Fit India Movement and his Fit India team members for taking great initiative in organising the said event successfully.
Earlier Govind Sharma, Nodal Officer Fit India Movement presented a formal welcome address .In his address, he gave a brief report of the on-going fitness and sporting events in Schools of Jammu division.
The other dignitaries from Directorate of School Education Jammu who graced the occasion were H.R. Pakhroo, Joint Director School Education Subah Mehta, Joint Director, Jammu,/Samba/ Kathua, Monika Bhandari, Chief Accounts Officer, Mamta Sharma, Deputy Director Planning, Suresh Raina, Dy. CEO Jammu, Principals/ Headmasters/Teachers of different Schools, officers/officials and staff of DSE Jammu.
The participants of both the events were felicitated with Mementos and appreciation certificates by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries during the function.
The final votes of thanks were presented by Dr. Rajesh Kumar, Personnel Officer of Directorate of School Education Jammu.
