| Kashmiri youth taken to maiden Delhi metro ride | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT
Jammu, Dec 13: In its relentless drive to enlighten and empower the next generation of Kashmir, Army today organized a ride on Delhi metro to 35 children from South Kashmir. For the young lads, it was exhilarating experience of a life time. Most of the children had not stepped out of the valley so far. It has been done to depict the humane and people friendly face of the army to future generation of Kashmir.
The tour, which started from South Kashmir, has taken these 35 children to immaculately laid out Chandigarh. After an experience of a life time in the beautiful gardens of Chandigarh and Pinjore, the children are now in the National Capital to see and feel for themselves the gigantic strides made be the Nation in diverse fields. Metro ride was just one of them.
Most of the children remarked that they never dreamt that such things existed in our National Capital. Why in Delhi? Such development can take place in Kashmir once the scourge of militancy is eliminated from the valley by the people. Instead of a train ride from Qaziguand to Baramula, it will be a Metro ride. The day is not far off.
In its continuous efforts to win the hearts and minds of people, the Army is organizing educational tours of the children from the valley to get first hand experience of great economic strides achieved by our Nation. |
