| MLA Shopian visits Arhama Fruit Mandi | | |
Srinagar, September 16 – Member Legislative Assembly Shopian Mr. Ghulam Hassan Khan visited the fruit mandi at Arahama here today.
Addressing the people he said that the Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture Planning and Marketing Department is expanding existing fruit mandi to an area of 35 kanals. He said this fruit mandi would be constructed on modern technology where fruits especially the world famous apples of Shopian would be placed with proper grading. He said a cold store would also be constructed to cater the needs of fruit growers.
Mr. Ghulam Hassan Khan said that Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture Producing Marketing Corporation (JKHPMC) has envisaged a project of Rs. 9.5 crore for packing of apples on the basis of modern technology. He said for this purpose the amount has already been released by the Central Government. He further said that a piece of 25 kanal of land has also been identified for the same.
The President of JK Fruit Grower association Mr. Mohammad amin Shah, President of vegetable seller association and Bazar Committee highlighted their problems on the occasion. |
