JKP to organize Cycle Race at Srinagar on Sept 11

SRINAGAR, Sept 7: Jammu & Kashmir Police is going to organize "Pedal for Peace" Cycle Race-2022 event at Srinagar on September 11, 2022 (Sunday) under its Civic Action Programme.
The event "Pedal for Peace" Cycle Race-2022 will be organized under the patronage of Dilbag Singh-IPS DGP J&K whereas S.J.M Gillani-IPS ADGP Armed J&K is the Chairman of the organizing Committee of the event and Shahid Mehraj-IPS DIG Armed Police/ IR Kashmir Range is the organizing Secretary of the event. The Flagg-Off Ceremony of the Cycle Race shall take place at 0630 Hours on September 11, 2022 (Sunday) from Lalit Ghat Boulevard Road Srinagar and the Flag-in Ceremony shall take place at 1000 hours on the same day at Police Golf Course Boulevard Road Srinagar.
Approximately 2000 Cyclists from J&K UT including professional Cyclists from outside J&K UT are going to participate in the said event. For registration of the Cyclists who are interested to participate in the said event, 5 registration counters have already been established at Srinagar w.e.f 3rd September 2022 at different locations viz: Police Golf Course, SDPO Office Nehru Park, Gindun Stadium Rajbagh, S.K Indoor Stadium Srinagar, Kashmir University and one registration counter has been established in Jammu at Gulshan Ground Jammu for the said purpose. All the Cyclists interested to participate in the Cycle Race 2022 at Srinagar will collect their registration forms at the aforesaid registration counters.
The registered participants of the event shall have to assemble at Lalit Ghat, the venue for Flagg-Off Ceremony at 0500 hours on September 11, 2022 for their scrutiny and distribution of Chest numbers to them by the officials of the organizing committee of the event.
An amount of Rs 05.13 lakh has been earmarked as prize money for winners of Seven different categories in the event.
The participants of the event shall be bifurcated in Seven categories viz: (1) Senior (Men) above 17 years (ATB) Professional Cyclist; (2) Senior (Men) above 17 years (MTB) Cyclist; (3) Open (Girls) above 15 years (MTB) Cyclist; (4) Junior (Boys) under 17 years (MTB) Cyclist; (5) Sub-Junior (Boys) under 14 years (MTB) Cyclist; (6) Sub-Junior (Girls) under 14 years (MTB) Cyclist and (7) Veteran Cyclist Category. The first 10 position holders in category number (1) to (6) and first 5 position holders in category number 7 mentioned above shall be presented handsome cash prizes category wise ranging from Rs. 1000 to Rs. 50,000/- to each winner by the organizers, on the same day during the prize distribution ceremony.
Besides, a raffle draw of chest Nos. allotted to all the participants of all 7 categories of Cycle Race shall be conducted after prize distribution ceremony of the winners of Cycle Race in which the 1st prize winner of the raffle draw shall be presented a Bicycle of Rs. 25000/-, 2nd prize winner of the raffle draw shall be presented a Bicycle of Rs. 16000/- and 3rd prize winner of raffle draw shall be presented a Bicycle of Rs. 15000/- on spot on the occasion.
