| Bandh conducts extensive tour to Pulwama | | | Srinagar, September 16 – To review the pace of various development works being executed by different agencies in Pulwama district, he Minister of State for Roads and Buildings Mohammad Khalil Bandh paid extensive surprise visit of various areas of the district here today. At Pampore the Minister inspected the under construction complex of ITI which would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 168.2211 lakh. He was apprised that the work of the building is being carried out in double shift system as per directions of the Chief Minister and would be completed in the month of March 2007. Mr. Bandh also inspected the ongoing work of bus stand at Pampore, which was at final stage and is estimated to be completed at Rs. 4.30 lakhs. At Pinglena the Minister inspected the ongoing construction work of additional accommodation to the Higher Secondary School, comprising three storied 12 rooms was at an estimated cost of Rs. 38 lakhs. At Pahoo Mr. Bandh inspected the construction work of High School building. The two storied building comprising of 14 rooms would be completed at an estimated cost of Rs. 62.79 lakhs. The Minister instructed the executing agencies to complete the ongoing works in stipulated time by maintaining the quality of the work. At High School Pahoo Mr. Bandh addressed the students and teachers. He exhorted the students to make best use of their time and urged teachers imbibe good quality of human being among the students and earn name and fame for themselves, for their parents and for their mother land. Mr. Bandh also directed the teachers to provide quality and value education to the students so that they would become responsible citizens. He said besides education the students must be encouraged to take part in extracurricular activities which would make them able to be a healthy one. At Pulwama a number of deputations met the Minister and apprised him about their problems. The main demand of the deputationists was compensation for their crops damaged due to recent floods. Later, the Minister responding to their demands said that the government was already seized of their problems and assured them that adequate compensation would be provided to the affected . He further said that concerned agencies as per instructions instructed are working on tirelessly to provide help to the affected people.
