Police nabs 3 illicit liquor smugglers

REASI, Sept 10: District Police Reasi under the supervision of SSP Reasi Amit Gupta-JKPS nabbed 03 illicit liquor smugglers from Jyotipuram, Chassana and Tulli Banna and recovered illicit liquor their possession.
Police Station Chassana received information through reliable source that one person namely Chain Singh S/O Lachman Singh R/O Dandakote Tehsil Chassana A/P Manjikote Tehsil Mahore is manufacturing illicit (desi) liquor illegally at his house. On this information, a team of Police Station Chassana led by Insp. Parmodh Singh SHO P/S Chassana raided the house and recovered about 10 litres lahan & utensils used for manufacturing illicit liquor.
In this regard case FIR No. 65/2022 U/S 48 (A,D,E) Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Chassana, accused got arrested and investigation initiated.
In another incident Police team of Police Post Jyotipuram led by PSI Rajat Sahani laid a surprise naka near Jyotipuram, during checking 3 litres of illicit (desi) Liqour recovered from Uttam Singh S/O Chaju Ram R/O Bakal Reasi.
On this accused arrested and case FIR No. 226/2022 U/S 48 A Excise Act stands registered at Police Station Reasi and investigation started.
Team of Police Post Banna led by PSI Mayank Jamwal laid a surprise naka near Banna area, apprehended one person namely Tasbir Singh S/O Kartar Singh R/O Tulli Tehsil Chassana District Reasi and recovered 1.5 litres illicit (desi) liquor from his possession.
On this a case FIR No. 66/2022 U/S 48 A Excise Act registered at P/S Chassana and investigation initiated.
In view of growing menace of drugs and to spread awareness among the general public about ill effects of drug menace Reasi Police organized awareness programs in Arnas, Mahore and Reasi area, whereas wild Cannabis (bhang) destroyed in Arnas area of District Reasi.
Amit Gupta-JKPS Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is leaving no stone unturned to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from society and is working on a multipronged strategy to deal with the problems of drug abuse.
SSP further appealed that drug peddlers should Shun the path of spoiling young generation otherwise they shall be booked under stringent law in near future.
