| Sg, gdc doongi conducts an extention lecture to mark the day | | WORLD SUICIDE PREVENTION DAY 2022 | |  Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 10: To mark the world Suicide Prevention Day 2022 the NSS Unit of Shaheed Ghanisham Govt. Degree College Doongi with the collaboration of Red Ribbon Club and Shikshat Bharat Abhiyan conducted an extention lecture today on 10-09-2022. A large number of students and whole staff of the college participated in the programme. Prof. Samina Khan Head Department of English and Convener Red Ribbon Club delivered a detailed lecture through power point presentation on the theme “Creating hope through action” against the increasing trends of suicide cases in the world especially in India. She threw a flood of light with solid data to show the ground reality regarding the increasing cases of suicide day by day.
Whole programme was organized under the guidance and patronage of Dr. Shamim Ahmed Azad the principal of the college. In his closing remarks he gave the references on inter-religion basis regarding the opposition and prohibition of committing suicide. He asked the audiences to take care of them-selves and to aware the society regarding the remedial measures against the curse of suicide also.
The programme was coordinated by Prof. Zaheer Abass the Head Department of Economics and NSS Programme Officer. Prof. Naresh Kumar Head Department of Dogri and Convener Shikshat Bharat Committee compared the programme. He also presented the welcome address to initiate the programme. Among others Dr. Irfan Ahmed and Prof. Jarnail singh also spoke on the occasion. |
