| BJP has secret understanding with NC, says Nariender | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec14: Ridiculing BJP claim of emerging as a balancing factor in the present elections to the J&K assembly, with no party or combination of parties being in a position to form the next government in the state without their support and the party being a partner in the government, Congress candidate from Jammu East constituency, Nariender Singh (Raju) has asked the BJP to explain with which party or parties they dream to form the next government. When they make these claims, they obviously dream at forming the government in alliance with the National Conference, since Congress in no case is going to form a coalition government with communal forces, represented by BJP. Similarly PDP is untouchable for the BJP, he added. The BJP, which for the public consumption in Jammu region, claims the NC to be their main opponent, being a Kashmir centric party and sympathetic towards the separatists, has not hesitated in the past to join hands with the same party in controlling Jammu Municipal Council in 1980 as well as including NC in the BJP led NDA government at the centre is obviously having some sort of tacit understanding with the NC, which makes them to make these tall claims, Nariender added. He was addressing meetings of party workers and his supporters at Jullaka Mohalla, Panjtirthi and Jain Bazar, today. Nariender Singh has also alleged that ill advised call for economic blockade of Kashmir given by the State BJP President, Ashok Khajuria, who is the party candidate against him from Jammu East, during the agitation over Amarnath land row, provided an excuse to the secessionist in Kashmir to raise the bogey of siege of Kashmir, providing impetus to hate India campaign in the valley, with the secessionist justifying their call of march to Muzaffarabad and J&K's secession from India. He added that while the call given by the BJP leader for economic blockade of Kashmir was not practically implemented, due to the maturity and sagacity of non BJP participants in the agitation, the same had caused a great damage to the Indian interests in Kashmir. Nariender Singh also criticized Khajuria's opposition to opening of Mughal road connecting Jammu with Kashmir valley through an alternative route via Rajouri and parts of Poonch districts in Jammu region. It speaks of highly narrow vision of the BJP who claims to be the champion of the empowerment of Jammu region. For them, Jammu region means Jammu city or at the most Hindu majority areas of Jammu, as they oppose every action which aims at developing the backward Muslim majority areas of Jammu region as Rajouri and Poonch. With this narrow communal mindset, the BJP actually plays in the hands of those elements in Kashmir who conspire to dismember Muslim majority areas of Jammu from the region and merge them with Kashmir valley, to form greater Kashmir. Nariender Singh warned the electorates of Jammu against voting for such candidates who through their narrow approach are harming the interests of Jammu region. |
