Azad’s honest assertion
9/13/2022 12:45:43 AM

Former J&K chief minister Ghulam Nabi Azad has made it clear that he won’t mislead the people by peddling lies. While addressing his first gathering in Kashmir after quitting the Congress Party he minced no words to convey a message that he can’t get the Article 370 back and the ones who are promising the restoration of J&K’s special status are misleading the people.
“Azad knows what can and cannot be done. I or the Congress party or the regional parties cannot give you back Article 370, neither can Mamata Banerjee, or DMK or NCP chief Sharad Pawar.”
Azad started his campaign in Kashmir on a very straight and direct note. He didn’t beat around the bush by promising what cannot be achieved. He drove home a point that no politician can restore Article 370 as it has gone and gone forever.
As the assembly elections in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir can be held anytime the politicians have already started building momentum for the polls. Azad’s message is clear that he doesn’t want to talk about J&K’s special status as he is aware that he cannot help.
Politicians are returning to people as they are aware it’s the voters who can put them back in the driving seat. Azad’s entry into J&K politics and his honest assertions can prove to be a big challenge for the leaders of other political parties who are still trying to sell the “old wine” in a new bottle.
After the abrogation of Article 370 political scenario in J&K has changed completely. Political parties are aware about the changed situation and are making every possible attempt to coin such slogans that could help them to keep people busy, but the electorates in J&K are aware about the fact that none of the political parties can achieve any unachievable feat.
The political parties will have to come up with a new strategy to lure the voters. Old slogans won’t work. During the past three years J&K has witnessed unprecedented development and growth so politicians can’t even promise that. The only promise they can make is that they will become a part of peace, prosperity and growth as other issues have become irrelevant and outdated.
