Major strike on drug peddlers; two notorious peddlers including one lady booked under PSA: Police

REASI, Sept 15: Continuing NASHA MUKT BHARAT ABIYAAN in Reasi and in a major strike on drug peddlers today District Police Reasi booked and detained two notorious drug peddlers of Katra area under PSA and lodged one of them in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal and other one in District Jail Ambphala.
Anit Kumar @ Rinku S/O Hem Raj Sharma R/O Latori Kundrorian Tehsil Katra District Reasi was found involved in drug peddling case FIR Nos. 122/2018 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, and FIR No. 22/2019 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act, of Police Station Katra whereas one notorious lady drug peddler Maya Mir W/O Late Anwar Mir R/O Jhuggi Near Railways station Katra was found involved in drug peddling case FIR Nos. 205/2021 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act and 130/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act of Police Station Katra.
Besides booking under NDPS Act a number of time both of them were warned to refrain from such type of notorious activities. However they remained on mission of minting money by supplying banned drug to youth of Katra and Reasi and thus spoiling our younger generations.
In view of their continuous involvement in drug peddling and to save young generations it was necessary to book them under stringent law.
On the directions of Sh. Amit Gupta JKPS Senior Superintendent of Police Reasi their dossiers for PSA were framed and sent for necessary detention order.
After getting necessary detention orders drug peddlers were arrested by the team of Police Station Katra led by Insp Nishant Gupta and SDPO Katra Kuljeet Singh under the Supervision of Amit Bhasin SP Katra. Under Detention Order Anit Kumar lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu and Maya Mir lodged in District Jail Ambphala Jammu.
SSP Reasi while sharing the details conveyed that Reasi Police is working on multipronged strategy to deal with the problem of drug abuse, on one hand awareness programs are being organized in every nook and corner of the district and on the other hand drug peddlers are being booked under NDPS Act.
SSP while giving tough message for drug peddlers added that Reasi Police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse from the society and, youth should shun the path of drug abuse and must return to main stream otherwise more such harsh step will be taken in future.
