DC inaugurates Drug de-addition centre at District Hospital Reasi

REASI, Sept 16: As part of Nasha Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan, Deputy Commissioner Reasi, Babila Rakwal today inaugurated a Drug De-Addition centre here in the Emergency Block of District Hospital.
The centre shall initially comprise of Counsellor's Room, Nursing station and doctor's room.
The Deputy Commissioner directed the Medical Superintendent to immediately deploy dedicated staff in the centre and ensure to put in place the requisite infrastructure for the counselling and treatment of the drug victims.
It was directed that the centre should not have any interface with the rest of the hospital so that drug victims do not hesitate to come there because of the social stigma attached to them and staff / counsellors also feel free to counsel them.
Similarly a counselling centre was established in the Community Health Centre Katra today.
The Deputy Commissioner stressed on the need for community participation in the eradication of the menace from the society. The Hospital authorities were directed to paint the boundary walls/prominent places of the District Hospital and Nursing College Reasi with the slogans of Antidrug so that visitors get awareness about the drugs abuse and message is transmitted down the line in various sections of the society.
Later, while taking a round of the hospital, the Deputy Commissioner asked the MS to immediately carry out a Swatchta Abhiyan in the premises of the District Hospital and remove unwanted grass and wild weeds and ensure cleanliness in the hospital.
Additional Deputy Commissioner, Abdul Star, Additional Superintendent of Police, Chief Medical Officer and Medical Superintendent District Hospital were also present at the inauguration of the drug de addiction centre.
