Back to Village Programme series wastage of time, money, resources: Rattan Lal Gupta
9/16/2022 10:38:32 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 16: Provincial President JK NC Rattan Lal Gupta on Friday criticized government for wasting time, money and resources on the worthless Back to Village Programme claiming that the first three phases failed to serve the purpose of providing succor to the common masses.
The NC senior leader was addressing the party functionaries of Gandhi Nagar Block Jammu of Bahu Constituency during a meeting at Sher e Kashmir Bhawan Jammu.
Rattan Lal Gupta said that envisaging another phase of Back to Village Programme is nothing but waste of time and energy because the earlier chapters did nothing for the people as still the villages are struggling to get basic amenities as there is water shortage, power outage and civic infra dearth in most of the villages of the state and this programme has failed to address any of these issues which the people are confronting as ever. He accused the J&K administration for misusing public exchequer under the garb of this wasteful exercise which has no meaning at all except propaganda. He said rather than wasting the money on such PR programmes, the government should use this money for providing facilities to the people. He said that hardly there is any implementation of the recommendations made in the previous B2V programmes and now the government is coming with the new one making mockery of people. This, he said is an attempt to hide the failures of the government as roads in villages are in shambles, water and power supply is pathetic, healthcare centres are without staff and medicines, and schools are dilapidated, and how come this jamboree of officials will help people out in a few days when during years they could not provide the basic facilities and the services.
"This is nothing but part of BJP's agenda to popularize the party on government expenses and therefore people should understand this ploy of the saffron party and should not fall prey to this trap", Rattan Lal said.
The senior NC leader asked the cadre to work hard to strengthen the party as the National Conference is the only political outfit in Jammu and Kashmir which can alleviate the problems of people and ensure justice to all.
Those were present on this occasion: Sheikh Bashir Ahmed Provincial Secretary,Brij Mohan Sharma Vice President Jammu Province, Vijay Lochan P.P SC Cell, Abdul Gani Teli PP OBC Cell, Pardeep Bali, Laxmi Dutta, Waris Gill President Christian Cell, Haji Maqbool Ahmed Block President Gandhi Nagar B, Ch. Liaqyet Ali, Haji Anayat Ali, Mumtaz Ahmed Kabir, Mohd Hamid, Ch. Purra, Bahadur Lal and others.
