Grameen Bank organizes village level programmes in Kathua

JAMMU, Sept 17: Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department under the guidance of Sanjay Gupta, Chairman of J&K Grameen Bank in collaboration with NABARD organized Village Level Programmes in Branch Offices Mahanpur, Marta Nagrota, Bhoond and Duggan in District Kathua. The programmes were organised for targeted groups like members of Self Help Groups for delivering the information about bank linkage, operation of loan accounts and prompt payment concept of NRLM subvention besides other available support to SHGs. The participants of the programme were Bank Officials, SHG members and NGO workers.
While speaking on the occasion, Sunil Choudhary, Head of Financial Inclusion & Insurance Department, J&K Grameen Bank highlighted that these programmes were intended to impact the SHG members regarding importance of interactions between bankers, SRLMs and SHG members which will results in better understanding and will improve the credit linkage requirements. He further informed the members of SHG groups regarding the benefits of Social Security Schemes like Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and Atal Pension Yojana. He urged the SHG members to aware the locals to avail these schemes through the nearest Branches of J&K Grameen Bank. He also applauded that the bank is making extraordinary efforts to make the national programme of social schemes a big success.
Makhan Singh, Regional Manager Kathua Samba, J&K Grameen Bank, highlighted the participants regarding the scheme of NRLM loan which may also be used by the SHG members for meeting the social needs, high cost debt swapping, construction or repair of house, construction of toilets and taking up sustainable livelihoods by the individual members within the SHGs or to finance any viable common activity started by the SHGs. He also highlighted the scheme of Joint Liability Group which may be availed by the informal groups comprising of 04-10 members engaged in a similar farm and non-farm activities. He further urged to all the participants to utilize the facilities of mobile banking application, Rupay Debit Cards and other digital products of the Bank.
Sarpanchs & Panchs of the villages were also present during the occasion, the sanction letters under various loan schemes like KCC, JLG and dairy loans were also distributed besides Rupay Debit Cards. Also, the claims of Rs.02 lac each to the nominees of the claimants under PMJJBY and PMSBY schemes were handed over in the programmes.
Branch Heads of their respective Branches emphasized on various facilities of the Bank and requested all the participants to visit in the bank branches to avail any type of facility in hassle free manner. They also stressed upon the participants to avail the benefits of Social Security Schemes including APY, PMJJBY & PMSBY and presented the vote of thanks.
