Early Times Report

Jammu, Sept 18:Jammu Kashmir Pradesh Youth Congress on Saturday observed National Unemployment Day to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi's birthday, taking a dig at the surge in unemployment rates across the nation under the Modi Government. The youth Congress leaders held a protest at Kunjwani Chowk led by PYC President Uday Bhanu Chib.
The program was organised by Youth Congress District President Jammu Happy Randhawa, where Vice President Ricky Dalotra, Gen. Sec. Divyansh Jamwal, Sec. Anirudh Sawhney Media Coordinator PYC, Manav Choudhary Jkpyc Spokesperson joined the protest.
During the protest, youth Congress leaders took to frying pakodas, polishing boots and selling kulchas on the roadside in a symbolic gesture to highlight Modi's remark that selling ‘pakodas’ is a way of employment.
The Youth Congress, in a reaction to this remark, stated that now the situation is such that even Engineers, Graduates, MBA graduates should take to these "employment opportunities" and should stop complaining about unemployment as per Modi Ji. They also highlighted the issue of inflation that has been rising by the day across India and has crippled the daily lives of the people. Inflation and unemployment together have become a menace for the Indian people and Modi Government is responsible, they said.
PYC President Uday Bhanu Chib spoke on the glaring unemployment rates in Jammu Kashmir which recently touched an all-time high of 32.8 percent in a stark contrast to the national average of 8.1 percent.
He stated that one of the biggest, if not the biggest, gifts of Modi Government to the nation is the massive and unprecedented unemployment across the country.
There is a very serious job crisis, especially in Jammu Kashmir, and the youth is completely distraught.
So, to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji's birth anniversary, Youth Congress across the country is observing National Unemployment Day, he said.
BJP Government's policies and schemes are directly responsible for this dire situation that there is an extreme scarcity of employment opportunities.
Unemployment is a major hurdle in India’s growth path. The Bharatiya Janata Party’s key election promise in 2014 was job creation. Many schemes of the Modi Government have totally failed to yield any result in this regard.
The PYC President also condemned the 'corruption, negligence and irregularities in government and civil recruitment exams' which have further led to a deterioration of the system. He said that we are facing the worst-ever unemployment problem because of BJP Government's incompetence. 'Qualified individuals are struggling to find jobs as per their skill and knowledge. Both urban and rural unemployment rates have gone up drastically, and the government has failed in presenting any promising employment schemes or plans to recover from this situation. The country has the highest unemployment rates in the last 45 years and the Modi Government is not ready with any plan of action. It is very clear that the government does not have the intention or the policy to eliminate the existing unemployment crisis', Uday Bhanu Chib said.
PYC Members and leaders including Vishu, Arun, Jony, Tony, Anmol, Arshi, Sahil, Vipul, Goga, Galo, Nikka and Abhishek Kundan joined the protest.
