Jammu, Dec16- Congress leader and its contesting candidate from Gandhinagar constituency, Raman Bhalla has said that the self centered policies of National Conference and Bhartia Janta Party had only the potential of aggravating the problems of the people and in a situation like this only Congress was capable of bringing prosperity to state.
Addressing series of public meetings across his constituency, Raman Bhalla said that both BJP and NC had the history of dividing the people for their political gains by playing with the emotions of people. While the BJP leaders lost no time in dividing the people on the basis of religion keeping in view the elections, the NC leaders went a step ahead by playing both communal and regional card for their benefit, he said. He said that National Conference could do nothing for the state even after ruling it for decades together as a result of which the state lagged behind in every respect.
The leaders of NC used to gain public support by raising emotions of people on religion or regional basis the repercussions of which are proven by the twenty year old violence in the state, he added.
Criticizing BJP, he said that their leaders were masters in providing the lip service to the people by promising miracles to gain their support.
“The BJP have all along watched the discrimination of Jammu people when NC was in power in state and in fact their government at Centre overlooked all the excesses committed to Jammu people during NC regime,” he said and added that it was only wider outlook of Congress which could treat all the regions equally.
