Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 16- Alleging that Congress and its allies that ruled Jammu and Kashmir have proved them selves not only communal but also inhumane too, former Union Minister and a senior BJP leader, Prof. Chaman Lal Gupta pointed out that the refugees from West Pakistan and the displaced persons from Pakistan occupied Kashmir still remain to be settled even after the expiry of over 60 years.
Addressing election meetings at Talab Tillo, Krishna Nagar, Janipura and other localities, Prof. Gupta said that the refugees from Pakistan in the rest of the country have not only been rehabilitated but also today no one is called there as a refugee. Even Dr. Manmohan Singh, who had come to India, is the Prime Minister of the country today and L K Advani is the leader of the opposition in the Parliament. But it was strange that in Jammu and Kashmir the refugees have been denied even the basic citizenship rights because of communal mindset of the Congress, National Conference, PDP and their likes.
He observed that under the grab of secularism these leaders of the Congress and other parties are perpetrating worst type of communalism and discriminating against displaced persons and refugees but it was unfortunate those who talk about human rights, have gone mum on this issue.
The BJP leader disputed the claims of development and prosperity being made by the Congress. He said the power crisis, the drinking water crisis, the awful condition of the roads and drains, growing unemployment and increase in the number of people living below the property line (BPL), expose the claims that what sort of prosperity they have brought.
Prof. Gupta asked the electorates of the area to defeat those who have cheated them and brought sufferings and discrimination against Jammu because the election provide them opportunity to punish them.
