| INTUC appeals pay hike | | | EARLY TIMES REPORT JAMMU, Dec 16: A meeting of INTUC unit, Jammu and Kashmir was held under the chairmanship of Shiv Kumar Sharma its state president. Addressing the meeting he said that the employees of state had expected that the J&K state would be the first to get the 6th pay commission pay scale but the Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Haryana, Sikkim and Rajasthan have already taken the lead to provide benefit of pay scale to their employees. Sharma urged upon the state govt to implement the pay commission report in the J&K state in too, as the previous Govt. headed by Ghulam Nabi Azad has already made the provision in the budget. He said that keeping in view the steep hike in price of essential commodities and record inflation the salaried class is facing unprecedented economic hardship and added workers R.e.T teachers, anganwari workers, helpers and others were facing financial crises due to price hike. He further demanded that all daily wagers with seven years of services should be regularized and the discrimination with daily wagers of Jammu province be removed and disperse their long pending pay and also demanded immediate release of pending installment of 12% D.A from July 32008 in favour of State employees and pensioners and enhance retirement age from 58 to 60 years.
