KATRA, Sept 30: All India Devotional Song Competition as part of Navratra Festival in its Fifth day began today at Yog Ashram Complex in the evening by lighting of the traditional lamp, wherein renowned singer Kavita Paudwal was the Chief Guest and Yog Acharya Swami Yoga Nand ji Maharaj ,Chairman All Devotional Song Committee & President Hotel Association Katra Rakesh Wazir, Assistant Director Tourism Amika Bali, Former winner of AIDSC Vanshika Jaral etc. were prominently present
Celebrity singer Kavita Paudwal who is known for singing devotional songs and has released around 40 music albums including Gayatri Mantra, Krishna, Lakshmi and Amrutvani is singining devotional songs since 1995 besides being a big name as play back singer in films, mesmerised the audience with her melodious songs. It is worth while to mention here that her mother Anuradha Paudwal too is a great singer and she too besides having a good name as play back singer for films had good command over devotional songs.
Former winner of the AIDSC Vanshika Jaral too gave her performace during the event and people were seen dancing on her tunes.
The Devotional Song Competition auditions were adjudged by the panels of experts in music including Dr. Surinder Kumar Sharma HOD Govt. Degree College Sunni Shimla and Dr.C L Verma Ex.Chairman Post Graduate University of Himachal Pradesh.
The Grand finale of the All India Devotional Song Competition will be held on 4th of Oct. and Winners will be awarded with gold amounting to Rs. 3 Lakh and a recording contract with Venus Records &Tapes ltd and likewise the runners ups will get 01 lac and 50,000/- respectively.
