9/30/2022 10:04:23 PM
Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 30: Senior BJP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta on Friday said that the women folk and the youths should avail maximum benefit of the government schemes tailored specially for these sections of society.
He said this during various events organized in the Gandhi Nagar Constituency in connection with Sewa Pakhwada held to mark the birthday of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which falls on September 17.
The BJP stalwart leader held a cleanliness drive near Police Post Digiana wherein water bodies were cleared of filth and garbage besides spreading awareness on the benefits of cleanliness.
Kavinder urged the people to keep their surroundings neat and clean to ward off diseases and bad aura besides ensuring serenity in the vicinity. He said that cleanliness is next to Godliness and therefore people should avoid littering and spilling of dirt as Jammu City is a beautiful place and every resident has a bounded duty to keep it clean and clear of dirt.
Karuna Chetri, Jyoti Sharma, Monu Salathia, Darshan Grover, Vinod Sharma, Avtar Singh Chib, Ranjit Singh, Gurdayal Singh, Subash Choudhry, Suraj Raina, Sangeeta Sharma, Raghav Arora, Vijay Dogra, Ajay Sharma, Sanju Bhau, Ashwani Kumar, Dalair Singh, Kashmir Singh, Meetu Sharma, Shivali Khanghar, Rajni Gupta, Sushila Sharma, Sunil Sharma and Jeet Sharma were present during the event.
Later, the senior BJP functionary became part of an awareness programme organized at Ramdasis Mohalla Gorkha Nagar Jammu in which a large number of women participated. The awareness programme was organized by Rekha Mahajan, State Secretary BJP.
Speaking at the function, Kavinder dwelled on issues concerning women empowerment and significance of Self Help Groups. He asked the women living in the vicinity to avail maximum benefit of the schemes launched by the government led by PM Narendra Modi for youth and women. He said that there are so many opportunities provided by the Modi dispensation which have the potential to make women and youth job providers instead of being job seekers. The former Deputy Chief Minister said that at present the Jammu Urban Development Agency is providing financial assistance of Rs. 2 lakh to the young entrepreneurs for setting up gainful self-employment ventures. "The special feature of this scheme is that shopkeepers who are already running their business can also avail benefit under this scheme", he said and asked the party cadre to disseminate information about this scheme and others as well to the masses so that no one remains devoid of the benefits of the schemes envisaged for the common masses.
Among others who were present include Vinay Gupta, District President; Narinder Koki, Bharat Bhushan, Neeraj Puri, Nayan Gupta, Surjeet Singh, Shallu Gupta, Vinod Kumar and Ranjit Singh.
