Powergrid organises inter school painting competition

Jammu, Sept 30: Power Grid Corporation of India Limited, Northern Region-II, Jammu in collaboration with the office of Chief Education officer, Jammu organized an Inter School Painting Competition. The Painting Competition was part of the POWERGRID’s approved activities under Swachhata Action Plan(SAP) for the financial year 2022-23.
The painting Competition was organised at the POWERGRID, Community centre on the theme of “Swachhta”. Around Forty five students of around 22 schools of Jammu division participated in this painting competition. The painting material and all tools were provided to the children by the POWERGRID. Children through these paintings expressed their concern on virtues of swachhta and suggested various measures to make our nation free from dirt and filth.
Sh. Abhay Kumar, Chief General Manager(Asset Management) of POWERGRID was the chief guest on this occasion . The judges of this Painting Competion were Sh. Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager(HR), POWERGRID , Ms. Gurjeet Kour, Master SRML HSS, Ms. Rupinder Kour, Teacher HSS Bishnah and Saiqa Akhtar Khan, Teacher GHS Chak Murar. The event was also attended by more than thirty teachers from various schools of Jammu besides senior officers and employees of both POWERGRID and office of Chief Education Officer, Jammu.
Dignitaries on this occasion appreciated the talent shown by the students through their paintings and advised them to contribute in ensuring that a healthy environment is available to mankind for its survival. Sh. Abhay Kumar on this occasion expressed his happiness in successful organizing of this event. He was particularly impressed with the talent of the participating children. He lauded the children for their contribution and urged them to be the torch bearers of the Swachhta Mission.
Bunty of GMS Sarwal, Shakti Ahirwar of GMS Sarwal, Kamlesh Banjare of GMS Mishriwala and Santbaksh of HS Chatha received First, Second, Third and Consolation prize. Winners and all participants of this competition were felicitated by the dignitaries present on this occasion. Vote of Thanks was presented by Sh. Vinod P. Baxla, General Manager (HR), POWERGRID.
