| SOS founder Kaul passes away | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Dec16- Padamshri J .N .Kaul, a well-known social activists and father of SOS school concept passed away at Faridabad in Haryana early this morning. Padamshree Jagan Nath Kaul was well known in Kashmiri community for his philanthropic and humanitarian work. Kaul, after the forced displacement of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley, had to plunge into one more arduous field of helping his fellow community men in exile. The entire idea of developing 'Hari Parbat' at Faridabad germinated in the mind of Kaul, the founder chief of the SOS schools who is a household name in Anangpur. Under his able guidance, Kashmiri Sewak Samaj Faridabad and Roots In Kashmir organized Navreh celebrations each year atop Aravali Hills at Hari Parbat, Anangpur with more zeal and vigour. Kaul was among those few Kashmiri leaders who were institution builders. He has been responsible for single handedly launching and initiating a number of institutions in the field of social welfare, education, culture and religious heritage. Papaji has been the recipient of many awards and honour's including "Padmashri" presented by the President of India, Raja Rammohan Roy Teacher's Award, G.D. Birla Award, Rajiv Gandhi Manav Seva Award, Twentieth Century Achievement Award (Given by the American Biographical Institute USA), Dadabhai Naroji New Millennium Award, Satpal Mittal National Award and Vayoshrestha Award (Ministry of Social Justice). Kaul is survived by his wife, three daughters and a son.
