| Security: Nothing impossible at Jammu railway station | | |

Jammu, Dec 14: Entry at one’s will and exit at rather sweet will –this is what makes Jammu railway station vulnerable to any unpleasant incident.
Jammu railway station being a vulnerable point has always remained on the target of militants but it seems that authorities at the helm of affairs have not learnt lesson from the past militants attack. Security men are deployed at the station but loop holes are quite visible.
There is no CCTV camera installed at the platform to detect any untoward incident. Three X Rays machines have been put at the station –one is not working, two are in action round the clock resulting into their frequent jamming. There is one main entrance and exist gate and at the time of arrival or departure of trains there is huge rush of passengers and how much security men keep vigil on each and every passengers, is easily understandable.
Two metal detectors door frames have been installed but they too are running on the faith of God. No platform ticket is checked. The old bridge connecting platform number1 and 2 is on the verge of collapse and is unable to bear heavy rush of passengers. All these laxities expose that how state and railway authorities are shrinking from their responsibilities which ultimately cost lives of innocent people. Early Times when contacted to the IG Railways MA Anjum he admitted the fact but he said that in order to thwart any untoward incident checking of the trains is regular and for the purpose service of dog squad is pressed regularly. But when asked about the electronic gadgets he said that it is the duty of Northern Railways to install CCTV cameras and for the purpose he had meeting with the Railways officers but till date not even a single CCTV camera has been installed. He said that for railway security a new railway police wing is on toe but when it been raised is a million dollar.
